Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant to support classrooms in Priority Schools and other affected schools. Under supervision of a teacher, you will assist in instruction, help with materials, and supervise students during lunch and activities.

The role requires a high school diploma and a valid ISBE paraprofessional license; bilingual ability in English and another language is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D. equivalent).
• Must possess a valid paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
• Bilingual ability in English and at least one other language is desirable.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and classroom technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction and supervision of students.
• Support teachers in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Greet and direct visitors, monitor hallways and lunchrooms.
• Assist in collecting and grading assignments and homework under supervision.
• Supervise student loading/unloading from buses and manage attendance processes.
