Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks dedicated personnel to provide bilingual support and ESL translation to students, staff, and families. You will assist in classrooms, monitor behavior, and help with learning activities to reinforce instruction.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and some language skills in English plus a target language. Training and alignment with district guidelines will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with demonstrated written and oral linguistic skills in English and in a minimum of one target language.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides bilingual communication support to teachers, staff and students through interpreting and translating data and information.
• Assists students with English as a second language to support comprehension and transition into an English-speaking environment.
• Directly communicates with parents and children to convey education and school information for full comprehension.
• Monitors student behavior to ensure safety and adherence to conduct rules.
• Assists teachers in supervision and learning activities, providing learning support to students.
