Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks a bilingual support staff member to provide interpretation and translation for teachers, staff, and students. You will work with English learners to aid comprehension and smooth transition into an English-speaking environment.

Responsibilities include direct communication with parents and students, supporting classroom activities, and aiding in lesson preparation and learning tools. Prior experience with bilingual education is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with bilingual language skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and a target language (Spanish, French, Creole, etc.).
• Demonstrated written and oral linguistic skills in English and a target language.

Responsibilities

• Provides bilingual communication support to teachers, staff and students through interpreting and translating data and information.
• Assists students individually who are English language learners to support comprehension and transition.
• Directly communicates with parents and children to convey education and school information for full comprehension.
