Job summary

Mark Twain Elementary in Pasco, WA is hiring a Bilingual Instructional Paraeducator - Transition to Kinder. This role supports students with bilingual needs, assists the classroom, and helps with transitions and basic care under the supervision of teachers.

Requirements include a high school diploma and bilingual (Spanish) ability. Government fingerprint clearance is required for new hires, with competitive hourly pay and a 180‑day calendar.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual and/or biliterate (Spanish) is required.
• One of: Associates degree, 72 college credits, or passing ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Prior paraeducator experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with students with special needs is preferred but not required.
• Valid First aid and/or CPR for infants/children, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid to provide emergency care.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction.
• Assist teacher and/or administrators with classroom management.
• Prepare materials for lessons.
• Support student arrivals, departures, and transitions (bus, crosswalk, etc.).
• Report misconduct and assist with supervision during activities.
• Assist with tests, quizzes, and assessments as directed.
• Maintain accurate student records in the SIS.
• Translate verbal/written information for students and families (bilingual).
• Assist with diapering, toileting, and related cares as needed per CBA.
• Attend district meetings and participate in feedback sessions.
• Distribute documents to staff, students, and parents.
