Job summary

Risas-Dental-and-Brace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a positive and professional bilingual Orthodontic Assistant (English/Spanish) to join the Risas Family. You will educate patients on treatment options and use state-of-the-art technology to deliver exceptional care and a great patient experience.

You will work hands-on with doctors, receive cross-training across dental specialties, and contribute to a fast-paced, friendly team.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Dental Assisting Certificate preferred.
• X-ray certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Coronal polish certification preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience as an Orthodontic Assistant preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors in all dental procedures and orthodontic treatments.
• Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare instruments and equipment for patient treatment.
• Check patient dental appliances prior to adjustment and remove if necessary.
• Assist with bonding, banding, debonding, and coronal polishing procedures.
• Assist in adjustments including wire changes, tie changes, separators, and bite stops.
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients in a timely manner.
• Educate patients on general oral healthcare as directed by the doctor.
• Present treatment to patients based on doctor recommendations.
• Record patient charting and notes in the digital chart as directed.
• Maintain inventory and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, etc.).
• Any additional duties as assigned.
