Job summary

Natural Vision is seeking an experienced bilingual Ophthalmic Medical Assistant to join our team in California. Responsibilities include collecting patient history, performing diagnostic testing, assisting with contact lens fittings, sterilizing instruments and communicating with patients and staff.

Must be fluent in English and Spanish; Medical Assistant education required. 3+ years ophthalmology/optometry experience preferred; on-the-job training provided; occasional travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant education required.
• Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology.
• 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience, ophthalmology/optometry preferred.
• On the job training provided.
• Travel to other locations occasionally required.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient medical history and conduct diagnostic testing.
• Educate patients and assist with contact lens fittings.
• Sterilize instruments and explain insurance benefits to patients.
• Assist with minor in-office surgical procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, staff and administration.
