Job summary

Cornerstone First Mortgage is seeking a Director of Mortgage Operations in its Miami branch. You will own the end-to-end loan process from application through closing, coordinating processing, underwriting, closing, and compliance while building a high-performance operations team.

The role emphasizes establishing scalable workflows, turn-time improvements, and cross-functional partnerships with underwriting, funding, and corporate compliance to sustain growth beyond current monthly volumes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in mortgage operations with leadership in a large retail lender.
• Hands-on processing and underwriting knowledge to guide the team.
• Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, Non-QM guidelines; DSCR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee loan lifecycle from application to funding, including processing and closing.
• Lead the operations team and collaborate with underwriting, closing, and compliance.
• Design workflows and SOPs to run the branch on systems rather than memory.
• Improve turn times and reporting, including daily pipeline reviews and weekly scorecards.
