Job summary

Westat is seeking bilingual Field Interviewers to conduct English-Spanish interviews for the MEPS study, a national survey of health care costs and usage in the United States. Field Interviewers attend in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households, traveling as needed across designated areas.

This part-time, yearly role includes mandatory training in January 2027, travel to local and occasional long-distance households, and data transmission daily.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Successfully complete the Westat language assessment protocols.
• Reside in and travel within project-designated areas to contact assigned households and conduct in-person interviews.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews in English and Spanish with adult household members.
• Contact households in-person and/or by phone to gain cooperation, set appointments, complete interviews, and collect documents.
• Transmit electronic data daily and comply with data security and confidentiality requirements.
