Job summary

Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana seeks a Medical Outreach Coordinator to advance referral readiness and provider engagement under a grant. You will strengthen referral pathways and educate providers to ensure eligible children enter the wish process efficiently.

You will collaborate with healthcare teams, families, and Make‑Wish staff while coordinating outreach and ensuring culturally competent support for Spanish‑speaking communities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred in related fields.
• Minimum two years in healthcare outreach, patient services, or nonprofit operations.
• Experience communicating with healthcare professionals and families preferred.
• Experience coordinating events or professional outreach activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support grant‑funded medical outreach initiatives and referral readiness activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with physicians, nurses, social workers and referral partners.
• Participate in hospital rounds, provider meetings, lunch‑and‑learn sessions, and outreach events.
• Assist with scheduling and supporting provider education activities and engagement opportunities.
• Maintain regular communication with referral sources to reinforce processes and eligibility.
• Support development of provider education materials and referral resources.
