Job summary

Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. seeks a Medical Interpreter to support LEP patients across multiple clinic sites in Philadelphia.

You will interpret accurately during visits, coordinate tests and referrals, and maintain patient confidentiality in a compassionate, team-based environment. Required a Bachelor's degree in social sciences or languages with medical interpreting certification; CPR certification; two years interpreting experience preferred; experience with EMR/NextGen is a

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social science, social work, or languages with medical interpreting certification.
• Two+ years of medical interpreting experience; other degrees may apply.
• Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in social services or healthcare with immigrants is a plus.
• EMR experience preferred; NextGen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist LEP clients during medical visits, appointments, and administrative tasks; interpret accurately and impartially.
• Assist LEP clients with communication regarding lab results and appointments; coordinate referrals.
• Document patient encounters and participate in group health education activities and counseling sessions as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards while interpreting.
