You will work Monday–Friday, support disputes, explain charges and benefits, and coordinate with insurers and internal teams, while upholding HIPAA privacy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medical bills, balances, payments, insurance claims, and statements.
• Explain billing charges, insurance benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and patient financial responsibility clearly.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account questions.
• Review insurance claim information and assist with identifying processing or payment issues.
• Communicate with insurance companies and internal departments to resolve billing concerns.
• Process patient payments and accurately document account activity.
• Assist patients with payment arrangements and financial assistance options.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and activity.
• Protect patient information per HIPAA and privacy requirements.
• Handle sensitive interactions professionally with empathy.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or supervisor.
• Meet standards for customer service, productivity, accuracy, and response times.
