Job summary

Qualifications

• One year medical assisting experience in ambulatory/clinical setting preferred.
• Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required or obtained within 90 days.
• CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Good communication and customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines.
• Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures.
• HIPAA laws and confidentiality compliance.
• Medical assistant best practices including EKG and basic drugs knowledge.
• Medical/pharmacology terminology and office procedures.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with patient management software; EPIC preferred.
• Ability to instruct patients effectively.
• Problem-solving, data collection and fact-based conclusions.
• Ability to read safety and operating manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• Safety practices to prevent hazards.
• Ability to apply medical assistant techniques for patient care.
• Strong attention to detail.

Full-Time Service Workers Las Vegas, NV, US

Salary Range: $19.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Working Under the direction of physician/ provider. The MA is responsible to assist in the examination and treatment of patients delivering high quality care and services, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

ADVANTAGES OF WORKING FOR UNLV HEALTH

• Clinic Hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (Actual scheduled hours may vary depending on business need).
• 12 Full-Day and 2 Half-Day Paid Holidays per year, starting with your first day of employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program Required.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed.
• Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care.
• Strong attention to detail skills.
