Strong organizational and bilingual communication skills are required. The position requires travel, a valid driver’s license, and BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days.

Formación

• High School/GED preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Position requires travel, valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required.
• Bilingual - English/Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by communicating them to others.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics and information in medical records.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and keep rooms neat and clean.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight and height.
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Assist the physician in the room as needed.
• Translate for patient/physician as needed.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
• Assist physicians in examining and treating patients, including instruments and injections.
• Collect blood, tissue or other specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Verify insurance and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Schedule procedures according to policies and staff availability.
• Coordinate schedule and equipment availability, identify conflicts and adjust schedules.
• Prepare and distribute daily schedules for timely operations.
• Notify changes in schedule (cancellations/no-shows) promptly.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
