Job summary

Marathon Health is hiring two full-time Medical Assistants for our Shelbyville location. The MA will support patient care, perform vitals, blood draws, injections, and assist the physician in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Two weekend or weekday shifts may apply; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Competitive benefits start monthly, PTO, and scrubs provided at no cost. Salary range is $21.00–$25.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to room and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Review prior medical information and update health data for the provider.
• Take vitals, draw blood, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations under order of the Provider.
• Coordinate with care team to develop patient plans and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, chart requests, documentation, referrals, check-in/out.
