Job summary

Northeast Valley Health Corporation is seeking a Medical Assistant II – Floater to work under the supervision of a licensed practitioner in non-invasive clinical tasks and supportive patient care.

The role requires travel to all NEVHC health centers as directed, and competency in clinical equipment, Point of Care testing, EMR usage, and confidentiality. Fluency in English and Spanish is required to communicate with patients and staff, with dedicated training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant education program from a public school or accredited program.
• Must demonstrate competency with clinical equipment and Point of Care testing within 90 days.
• Must pass Family Planning Health Worker certification within six months.
• Must complete two or more certification trainings within six months (various listed trainings).
• At least one year of paid experience in Gynecology/Obstetrics preferred.
• Must travel to all NEVHC Health Centers as directed by supervisor.
• Fluency in English (speaks, reads, writes) and Spanish (speaks, translates, reads, writes).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use EMR effectively.
• Current California driver’s license and driving history acceptable to insurer.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-invasive routine clinical supportive services under licensed supervision.
• Perform administrative, assistive, and outreach activities as needed.
• Follow established policies and procedures and ensure licensed practitioner is physically present when performing certain tasks.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served with knowledge of growth and development across life span.
