Job summary

Access Community Health Network in Chicago seeks a Medical Assistant to support a multi-disciplinary care team. You will take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines, assist with procedures, respond to patient inquiries, and help schedule appointments.

Training will include extensive Epic EMR use to manage records and coordinate care, with on-site duties and potential evening or Saturday shifts to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Work with a care team to provide health services and resources.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines.
• Assist patients by responding to questions and scheduling appointments.
• Review medical records and contribute to care coordination.
• Participate in training with Epic EMR.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
