Job summary

Optimus Health Care is hiring a Medical Assistant/Front Office Registrar for the School Based Health Center in Bridgeport, CT. This full-time role blends clinical and administrative duties, supporting patient flow, intake, and scheduling within a school-based health setting.

Ideal candidates graduate from an accredited MA program, hold MA certification, and have EMR familiarity. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole is helpful; CPR certification is required upon hire and recertification

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred (AAMA or equivalent).
• CPR certification required upon hire and renewed bi-annually.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient intake and verify demographic/insurance information.
• Monitor provider schedules to maintain productivity levels and timely visits.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments and prepare exam rooms.
• Answer phones, copy, fax, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
• Support both clinical and administrative Medical Assistant duties; bilingual skills are a plus.
