Job summary

Optimus Health Care Inc. is hiring a Full Time Float Medical Assistant in Bridgeport, CT to support clinicians in a patient-centered medical home. You will administer health questionnaires, take vital signs, prepare rooms, and assist with scheduling while ensuring confidentiality and infection control.

Ideal candidates graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, have EMR experience (Epic preferred), and hold CPR certification. Bilingual Spanish-English or English/Creole is valued.

We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Float Medical Assistant to join our team in Bridgeport CT

Position Summary

The Float Medical Assistant is a member of the patient centered medical home (PCMH) care team responsible for working with providers, nurses, and other front office staff to ensure the complete and timely patient flow process. This individual exhibits sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and must maintain strict confidentiality. The Medical Assistant administers health questionnaire to patients; Act as a chaperone by accompanying the clinician in the exam room for any intimate exam; Update patient information in Epic (EMR system); Manage in-basket messages; Takes patient history & vital signs; Prepares patients for exam & treatment; Prepares exam rooms w/ necessary equipment & supplies; Assists with scheduling of tests & treatments; Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines, and confidentiality and privacy policies; Maintain competency in the use of clinical equipment and procedure; Connect language interpretation service for the clinician when needed; Assists with administrative tasks as needed; Explores community resources available to meet the patient’s needs; Maintain ongoing networking efforts w/community providers in the area; Perform other related duties as needed.

Job Qualification/Requirements

Professional positive attitude, vision, understanding of customer service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this position.

Education

Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Experience

Experience in a clinical setting, preferred Familiarity working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) helpful.

Language Skills

Bilingual: Spanish-English or English/Creole preferred; Demonstrate the ability to effectively interpret medical terminology

Licensure / Certification

Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or in process of acquiring Certification, a plus. CPR certification required upon hire and recertification bi-annually
