Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Surgical Technician, or Scrub Technician in a patient care setting.
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire (American Heart Association preferred).
• Preferred completion of an accredited MA or Surgical Technologist program.
• Strong communication skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Dependable, punctual and knowledgeable in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care Support: Assist with patient rooming, verification, and vitals documentation; use eCW to update patient status and maintain smooth patient flow.
• Procedure Support: Prepare exam rooms, support sterile and non-sterile procedures, assist in surgical procedures, and follow CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and cleanliness.
• Documentation & Inventory: Document patient information, complete consent forms, manage inventory, and keep exam rooms stocked.
• Compliance & Confidentiality: Uphold HIPAA standards and UVVC's Core Values and Standards of Conduct; maintain patient confidentiality.
