Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong written and communication skills in English.
• Experience as Medical Assistant or in a related field, with at least 1 year in back office.
• Proficiency with an EMR system and computer skills.
• Effective team player who meets commitments and contributes ideas.
• Bilingual in English; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
• Experience in a surgical setting is a plus with willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits and procedures.
• Record brief medical history and reason for visit in chart.
• Record vital signs accurately.
• Submit and follow up on medication prior authorizations with insurers.
• Communicate authorization status with providers, pharmacies, and patients.
• Assist providers with examinations and injections as ordered.
• Ensure patient demographics and insurance information are accurate.
• Triage patient calls and coordinate with clinical staff.
