Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
• Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration

Responsibilities

• Intake patients into clinic by obtaining vitals, medical history, chief complaint, medications, and allergies; document in the EHR.
• Report findings to inter-professional team; prepare charts and provide test results and records as requested; triage calls and manage communications per policy.
• Answer telephones; assist with appointments, messaging, pharmacy refills, and lab questions.
• Register new patients and update existing patient information in the practice management system.
• Perform simple diagnostic tests, collect specimens, draw blood, and maintain examination rooms.
• Provide instructions for procedures and treatments per unit guidelines; coordinate services per payer guidelines.
• May provide coverage at other clinical sites as needed.
