Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for patient care at CenterWell Edinburg. The role involves administrative tasks and clinical duties within an outpatient care site in Edinburg, TX.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, administering injections, collecting specimens, inputting data into the EMR, and supporting physicians and nurses. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are preferred for effective patient communication.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of MA school/training program or CMA/RMA certification or 5+ years of MA experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be CPR Certified
• Preferred phlebotomy experience
• Experience administering medications/vaccines (1+ years MA experience)
• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative tasks in addition to direct patient care.
• Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs, injections, and diagnostic tests.
• Input patient information into the EMR/EHR system.
• Coordinate with Physicians and Nurses to deliver care.
• Maintain examination rooms and prepare supplies.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure quality patient experiences.
