Job summary

Coastal Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks a compassionate Bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to join a multi-specialty team. You will provide clinical and administrative support, delivering excellent patient care while welcoming a diverse patient population.

The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish, with 1+ year MA experience, EMR proficiency, and strong organizational and communication skills. A CMA/RMA certification is preferred, with BLS/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients in both English and Spanish.
• Room patients and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and other clinical duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate EMR records.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Answer patient questions and provide education under provider direction.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; ensure infection control.
