Job summary

AssociatesMD Medical Group in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team on a full-time basis, Monday–Friday. You will handle front desk duties and clinical support, delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of MA experience, proficiency with eClinicalWorks (eCW), and is fluent in English and Spanish. CMA/RMA preferred; bilingual is highly valued by our community.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in urgent care.
  • Experience with front desk check-in, registrations, and insurance verification.
  • Familiarity with drug screenings and chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Proficiency with eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic medical records.
  • Ability to multitask and stay composed in high-volume settings.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude.
  • MA certification (CMA/RMA or equivalent) preferred; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform drug screenings per established protocols.
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and conduct point-of-care testing.
  • Document accurately in eCW and maintain timely records.
  • Support front desk: registration, insurance verification, and co-pays.
  • Maintain smooth patient flow from arrival to discharge.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and ready between patients.
  • Provide a warm, professional experience to each patient.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. This is a full-time position working a Monday - Friday schedule. This is a dual-role position. The right candidate will be comfortable moving seamlessly between clinical back-office duties and front desk responsibilities as clinic needs require. Versatility and a team-first mindset are essential along with proficiency with the Spanish language.

What You Will Do
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Perform and process drug screenings in accordance with established protocols
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and conduct point-of-care testing
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in eClinicalWorks (eCW)
  • Support the front desk and check-in process including patient registration, insurance verification, and co-pay collection
  • Ensure smooth patient flow from arrival through discharge
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and ready between patients
  • Deliver a warm, professional experience to every patient who walks through our doors
What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in an urgent care or fast-paced clinical setting
  • Working knowledge of front desk and patient check-in processes — this role requires comfort and confidence in both the front and back of the clinic
  • Familiarity with drug screening collection and chain-of-custody protocols
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW)
  • Ability to multitask and stay composed in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus and strongly valued in our community
