Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for a multi-site manufacturing organization in Southern California. The role focuses on CA employment compliance, investigations, and workforce planning for a predominantly hourly workforce.

The hands-on leadership position requires advising senior leadership, developing staff, and partnering with operations to manage HR programs and risk across three locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial/Labor Relations, psychology, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Experience supporting multiple locations with hourly production workforce.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and wage-hour compliance.
• Experience conducting and documenting workplace investigations, including harassment and employee relations.
• Fluency in Spanish for investigations and communications with production employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR strategy and execution across three locations.
• Own complex employee relations and workplace investigations, including documentation and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure California compliance on wage-hour, meals/rests, timekeeping, overtime, and related requirements.
• Manage health and leave processes including FMLA, CFRA, pregnancy disability, paid sick leave, and workers’ comp.
• Oversee recruiting, staffing strategy, compensation analysis, succession planning, and leadership development.
• Lead and develop the HR function with SOPs, HRIS data, and KPIs to improve service to operations.
• Partner with operations on workforce risk, Cal/OSHA, benefits, and injury/illness prevention.
