Job description

Job Description
Who We Are

Filthy Food is a Miami-based, entrepreneurial-lead, quality-first, cocktail mixer and garnish company, with a line of products that are served by the best bars, restaurants and hotels in the world. We believe that the details matter and the people here at Filthy don’t just produce and sell products; we are obsessed with making the drinks people love, better. We’ll leave you with this... Life is not about dipping your toe in, it’s about getting Filthy is everything you do because that’s where joy is.

Our Culture

At Filthy we foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. We value diversity, creativity, and continuous improvement. Kind/Killers – Part Kind: Filthy hires decent humans, who operate with integrity, enthusiasm, and empathy. Part Killer: Everyone here wants to win. We are competitive and courageous.

About the Role

The Logistics Specialist is the next level of mastery beyond the Logistics Coordinator: an experienced logistics professional who owns carrier strategy, freight performance, and complex or high-value shipments for Filthy’s Miami manufacturing operation, rather than executing day-to-day shipment scheduling alone. This role blends hands-on coordination with data-driven decision-making - negotiating rates, managing international and exception-heavy shipments, and driving the cost and service improvements that keep Filthy’s supply chain lean as we scale. The ideal candidate has several years of logistics experience, is comfortable owning carrier negotiations and vendor performance, and can mentor less experienced teammates while still rolling up their sleeves when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own carrier and freight broker relationships for key shipping lanes, including rate negotiation, contract renewals, and performance scorecards.
  • Analyze freight spend, transit times, and service performance data to identify cost-saving and network efficiency opportunities.
  • Manage complex, high-value, or international shipments, including customs documentation, import/export compliance, and cross-border coordination.
  • Serve as the escalation point for shipment exceptions, claims, and disputes that the Logistics Coordinator cannot resolve independently.
  • Lead carrier RFPs and sourcing events; compare bids and recommend carrier and mode selection based on cost, service, and capacity.
  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager and Production on demand planning and capacity forecasting to align transportation strategy with production output.
  • Build and maintain logistics KPI dashboards (on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, damage/claims rate) and report trends and recommendations to leadership.
  • Guide and mentor the Logistics Coordinator on documentation standards, carrier coordination, and issue resolution.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that reduce freight costs, improve shipment visibility, and streamline logistics processes.
  • Ensure logistics activities comply with DOT, customs, and other applicable transportation and safety regulations.
  • Support annual freight budgeting, rate benchmarking, and vendor contract reviews.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers on complex sourcing issues or supply disruptions affecting production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate freight, carrier, and performance records within the company’s ERP, TMS, or logistics systems.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • 4+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, including experience negotiating with carriers and vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field strongly preferred; additional relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing freight and logistics data and translating findings into cost or service improvements.
  • Experience negotiating carrier contracts and managing freight broker or third-party logistics (3PL) relationships.
  • Working knowledge of international shipping, customs documentation, and import/export compliance preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) and ERP, TMS, or WMS systems.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
