Job summary

Sojourner House is seeking a Legal Program Coordinator in Providence, RI, to assist in developing a statewide legal program for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The role requires coordinating intakes, calendaring, and outreach, with a focus on data reporting and grant compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in family law, fluency in English and Spanish, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in family law (motions, filings, etc.).
• Experience providing services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general project management to the legal program.
• Manage all intakes and scheduling for consultations.
• Manage all communication and document gathering for intakes/consults.
• Manage and organize all physical and electronic files for clients.
• Assist the Staff Attorney with file preparation, drafting, and submission; conduct legal research.
• Assist Staff Attorney with recordkeeping and calendar management.
• Communicate with clients and provide reminders for upcoming hearings.
• Provide supportive services such as safety planning and referrals to resources.
• Participate in program evaluation and grant reporting requirements.
• Coordinate intern communications, scheduling, and training.
• Update policies and systems to improve efficiency.
• Build relationships with other organizations for outreach to under-represented groups.
