Job summary

Hispanic Housing is seeking a Leasing Assistant to support the Property Manager with daily operations and resident relations at a Chicago property. The role requires interaction with a diverse community, courtesy, and diplomacy in handling residents and property matters.

Responsibilities include leasing support, filing, rent calculations, and coordinating inspections, with an emphasis on Fair Housing compliance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
• High school diploma required; higher education preferred.
• Experience in Affordable Housing is required.
• Leasing license and COS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Office and property management software.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents, prospective residents, vendors, contractors, and visitors professionally.
• Answer calls, direct to staff, and take detailed messages.
• Provide general administrative support to the property management team.
• Maintain organized resident, leasing, and property files.
• Assist with leasing applications and rent calculations.
• Process renewals, move-ins, and move-outs per policy.
• Enter/update data in property management systems and manage notices.
