Job summary

Gates Hudson in Baltimore is seeking a Leasing Consultant to join one of our residential communities. You will greet prospects, tour models, present features, and guide applicants through the leasing process.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and a strong sales mindset. Weekend availability is required, bilingual Spanish is highly preferred, and prior leasing or hospitality experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build rapport quickly with prospects and residents
• Strong customer service mindset with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Greet and tour prospective residents, qualify needs, and present the community and available apartments
• Highlight apartment features, amenities, and benefits to support leasing goals
• Proactively manage leads, document tours, and complete leasing paperwork accurately and timely
• Review notices to vacate and make every reasonable effort to retain residents
• Answer incoming phone calls and in-person inquiries from prospects and residents
• Address resident questions, concerns, and service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Follow up with residents on completed maintenance requests to ensure satisfaction
• Maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude and promote goodwill among residents, coworkers, vendors, and contractors
• Ensure the leasing office, tour routes, common areas, amenities, and model units are clean, organized, and tour-ready
• Walk vacant and rent-ready units to confirm availability and presentation standards
• Conduct move-in and move-out inspections with residents
• Consistently implement and uphold community policies and procedures
• Stay informed on local market conditions and trends
• Share ideas with the Property Manager to improve marketing efforts and resident satisfaction
• Assist with planning and hosting resident events as directed
• Weekend availability is required, as most prospect tours occur on weekends
