Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Data Collector to lead data collection for community-based research on food insecurity. This in-person role is based in the Community Health and Health Behavior department and reports to the Data Collection Coordinator.

Responsibilities include training, onboarding, conducting phone interviews, and maintaining databases, with some evenings and weekends required and local travel possible.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
• Ability to occasionally travel locally.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Degree in Process.
• 1 year of research experience.
• Experience with data collection tools (RedCap, Excel, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
• Experience working in the communities targeted by research.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Assistant Director of Research to develop project workflows and protocols for data collection.
• Design training for data collectors based on written protocol.
• Assist with onboarding new student data collectors.
• Complete phone interviews and surveys.
• Participate in weekly data collection meetings.
• Troubleshoot data collection issues with the data collection team and identify improvements.
• Manage participants in databases.
