Job summary

Arlington County Government is seeking a part-time bilingual Relief Worker (English/Spanish) to support weekend coverage for the Detention Diversion Program (DDP). The role monitors youth behavior at home and in the community, working primarily on weekends to ensure compliance with court rules and regulations.

The Detention Diversion Program serves as an alternative to secure detention for some juvenile offenders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• Some experience providing human services, counseling, and/or probation services in the criminal justice field preferred.
• Must possess a valid Driver License; and
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Maintaining daily contact with DDP clients by telephone, in person visits, at their home, office, school or employment, including weekends and holidays.
• Providing face-to-face contact with the parent or guardian per week.
• Documenting time contacting DDP clients over the weekend and submitting time in PRISM on Monday mornings.
• Maintaining updated case notes and submitting handwritten notes into the BADGE system.
• Collaborating with DDP relief unit and Supervisor when necessary to discuss caseloads.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
