Job summary

Submer is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing Data Center Technology organization in Houston. The role supports financial operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance with 2–3 years of accounting experience and exposure to contracts and compliance accounting.

The ideal candidate will handle GL entries, month-end close, AP/AR, budgeting support, and variance analysis in a hybrid environment. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
• Experience supporting risk management, internal controls, compliance, or audit activities.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with audit requests.
• Knowledge with Spanish accounting rules and best practices.
• Assist in identifying and monitoring financial, operational, and compliance risks.
• Support internal control reviews and risk mitigation activities.
