ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Columbus Bilingual West in Columbus, Ohio, to support students through IEP-driven instruction and behavioral planning. The role emphasizes inclusive practices, collaboration with teachers, and family communication in a language-rich learning environment.

Responsibilities include diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, IEP development, progress monitoring, and culturally responsive teaching.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or co-teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass background checks (federal and state).
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with teachers to support students with IEPs.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals/objectives.
• Meet goals related to student achievement & culture.
• Use research-based planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons.
• Serve as advisor for a group of students.
• Communicate with families about student growth.
• Plan/participate in non-instructional activities like events & field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
