Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an Interpreter for on-site and virtual assignments in New York City. The role supports the Office of Language Access in providing equitable communication for families who prefer languages other than English.

Responsibilities include interpreting across meetings and events, sight translation, and ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times. 3+ years of experience and fluency in English plus a target language are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional interpretation experience.
• Fluency in English and at least one target language.

Responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between English and the target language.
• Perform sight translation of written materials when required.
• Facilitate communication during meetings, conferences, hearings, information sessions, and other events.
• Maintain accuracy, neutrality, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
• Support interactions involving parents, students, school staff, and administrative personnel.
• Remain available for the full duration of assigned events unless otherwise authorized.
