Job summary

Gilder Search Group seeks qualified interpreters to support the Office of Language Access for New York City schools. The role involves on-site and virtual interpretation for meetings with parents, students, and staff, focusing on simultaneous interpretation with occasional consecutive work.

Candidates must have 3+ years of professional interpretation experience, fluency in English plus a target language, and strong confidentiality and ethics. Travel across NYC may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and virtual interpretation for meetings involving parents, students, and Department personnel.
• Perform simultaneous and occasional consecutive interpretation and sight translation.
• Facilitate communication during meetings, conferences, hearings, and information sessions.
• Maintain accuracy, neutrality, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
• Travel to NYC schools and administrative offices as needed, and support events with portable interpretation equipment.
