Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio Careers seeks an Intake Specialist to coordinate intake and orientation for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. You will work under the Assistant Lead Case Manager to ensure timely processing and trauma-informed care within the Sanctuary Model framework.

The role requires on-call availability, collaboration with ORR and DFPS standards, and adaptability to evenings, weekends, and holidays while maintaining documentation and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, human services, social services or related field.
• Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly recommended.
• Bilingual English/Spanish abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate intake interviews and orientation for UAC in care.
• Maintain bed capacity workspace with accurate counts and status.
• Communicate arrival dates/times to program staff and ORR partners.
• Respond promptly to placement confirmations via email or phone.
• Adhere to agency policies, DFPS standards, and ORR policy.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet timelines.
• Enter case information into UAC portal within required timeframes.
• Ensure safety and well-being of children, including crisis interventions when necessary.
