Job summary

Maya Angelou Elementary in Pasco, WA, is seeking a Bilingual Instructional Paraeducator to support students with bilingual instruction and classroom activities. The role requires bilingual/biliterate (Spanish) skills and a High School diploma or higher.

The position follows a 180-day calendar with daily hours as specified and includes fingerprint screening for new hires. Responsibilities include one-on-one or small group instruction, assisting with classroom management, preparing lesson

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual and/or Biliterate (Spanish) required.
• One of: Associates degree (AAS, AA) or higher; 72 college quarter credits or 48 semester credits in college level courses; Passing ETS paraeducator assessment.
• Prior paraeducator experience preferred but not required.
• First aid and/or CPR for infants/children or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid to provide emergency care.
• Provide one-on-one instruction or group instruction.
• Assist classroom teacher and/or building administrator with classroom management.
• Assist with preparing materials needed to conduct lessons.
• Translate verbal and/or written information for students, district personnel, parents and guardians (Bilingual only).
• Provide supervision during arrivals/departure, recess, meals, and other transitions.
• Assist with reporting misconduct on school property and/or school bus routes.
• Attend required paraeducator training and maintain records.
