Job Description

The Maintenance Lead assigns work tasks to mechanics, assists the Maintenance Supervisor with scheduling and monitoring workloads, and trains less experienced employees as required.

Responsibilities:
  1. Install, operate, maintain, check, and troubleshoot all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment. Install, troubleshoot, and repair solid state, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
  2. Follow safe working practices and report/repair any hazard conditions.
  3. Inspect machines, perform tests, and complete all required reports and paperwork.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs according to A.I.B. standards.
  5. Diagnose issues and employ proper troubleshooting procedures to determine when parts need replacement or repairs are necessary.
  6. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, and mechanical equipment as directed.
  7. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble electrical motors, relays, timers, and related electrical equipment.
  8. Install and repair electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing, controls, and grounding as directed.
  9. Operate mobile lift trucks and hoisting equipment during maintenance work; possess knowledge of simple rigging for equipment moving and relocation.
  10. Assist in maintaining the spare parts inventory for the plant.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Minimum of 6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in bakery or food/beverage manufacturing. Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes.
  • Certified in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent).
  • Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and various AC and DC electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and install complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams.
  • Experience repairing gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and compressed air systems, including reading diagrams and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including connections, controls, and grounding.
  • Proficiency with welding equipment (MIG/TIG/ARC), cutting tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
Shift:

3rd shift (10 pm - 6:30 am)

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting hourly pay: $47.00+ shift differential, overtime, 7 holidays, and vacation pay. Full benefits include health, vision, dental, life, AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) with match, flexible spending accounts, bonus programs, uniform and shoe allowances, and employee discounts.
