As a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist at Stephens Metal Products, Inc., you will oversee day-to-day Human Resource office operations and support key HR functions across recruiting, HRIS, employee relations, training, benefits, compensation, and organizational development. This onsite role in Yakima, WA requires strong communication in both English and Spanish.
Role Overview
You will manage Human Resource office administration, including the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. Responsibilities cover functional areas such as departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits administration, compensation, organizational development, and employment processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment for exempt and nonexempt employees and interns using standard recruiting and hiring practices to support hiring a qualified workforce.
- Assist with creating an in-house employee training system aligned to company needs, including new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, and additional training as required.
- Support development of Human Resources policies related to employee relations.
- Provide day-to-day benefits administration and assist employees with claim issues, including Spanish interpreting services when necessary.
- Develop and schedule benefits orientations and other benefits training.
- Administer disability and workers’ compensation claims.
- Comply with governmental and labor legal requirements and government reporting needs, working to maintain minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
- Protect employee and company interests in alignment with company HR policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Support employee communication and feedback.
- Implement HR programs by providing Human Resource services such as talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, labor relations, and completion of personnel transactions.
- Develop HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending actions.
- Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating solutions, implementing selected approaches, and providing coaching and counseling.
- Maintain organizational value by keeping information confidential.
- Support departmental and organizational reputation by taking ownership of new and different requests and looking for ways to add value to work outcomes.
- Work with management and supervisors to ensure manufacturing safety requirements are met.
- Assist with payroll duties when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business preferred.
- Three to five plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions required.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices required.
- Experience administering benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
- Able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (required).
- Evidence of strong confidentiality practices.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (a plus).

Compensation
$25 - $32 per hour (pay rate: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour).
