Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) in California to support leaders and employees on HR initiatives, processes, and relations. The HRBP builds strong relationships and serves as a liaison within the client group.

The role requires 3–5 years HR experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong knowledge of HR systems. Spanish fluency is required. This on-site position offers opportunities across multiple US markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, labor relations, HR, business administration or related field.
• SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience; 2+ years in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, training, and labor relations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of company systems (Workday, SAP, JDE).
• Recruit, interview, and select salaried and hourly employees for the client group.
• Conduct new employee orientation to foster positive impression of the business unit.
• Administer salary and hourly compensation programs to ensure equity.
• Administer vacations, sick leave, and other employee reports.
• Prepare new hire and termination documentation and conduct exit interviews.
• Represent organization in employee hearings and investigations.
• Coordinate client group training with HR management.
