Job summary

Youth for Tomorrow in Bristow, VA is seeking an HR Recruiter to manage full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and onboarding for a diverse nonprofit workforce. The role collaborates with department managers and supports the organization’s mission.

The position involves screening candidates, coordinating interviews and offers, ensuring background checks, and maintaining HR records while supporting campus events and job fairs. Hybrid work with on-site requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition experience.
• Proven sourcing experience to attract passive candidates.
• Minimum of two years HR or related experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English – speak, read, write.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
• VA Notary Public preferred.
• Ability to work on campus in Bristow, VA (HQ) a minimum of 2 days per week once trained.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department managers to understand requirements, duties, and qualifications for vacancies.
• Creates job postings and advertisements on multiple platforms to source viable candidates.
• Stays current with YFT events and distributes recruitment materials.
• Aggressively searches databases, social media, and other platforms daily to identify candidates.
• Phone screens candidates, selects qualified candidates for interviews, and connects them with hiring managers.
• Follows up with clients or hiring managers after interviews to determine placement feasibility; collects feedback.
• Checks references and credentials of candidates and verifies experience.
• Counsels candidates on the interview and hiring process.
• Presents offers of employment contingent on background checks and pre-hire requirements.
• Assists with collection of background check documents via in-person HR appointments.
• Follows the background check process to ensure completion and compliance.
• Scans pre-hire documents to electronic records and completes pre-hire checklist.
• Collaborates with HR staff to meet hiring and training requirements for the HSPRS program.
• Communicates to candidates and managers when eligible for orientation.
• Organizes and attends job fairs and campus events.
• Collects and analyzes data to understand market salaries, candidate availability, and demand.
• Maintains compliance with EEO and related laws.
• Tracks immunization records and notifies employees to complete requirements.
• Assists with maintenance of personnel records and HRIS updates.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
