Job summary

Westside Federation of Senior & Supportive Housing seeks a Housing Assistant to help residents apply for housing and collaborate with the team to reach permanent housing aligned with residents’ needs.

Responsibilities include managing housing applications, coordinating with social service staff, accompanying residents to interviews, and providing information about housing options; bilingual Spanish/English preferred, with strong computer skills and experience with AWARDS and CARES.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience providing housing information and applications for homeless individuals.
• Strong computer skills and experience with databases and electronic charting (AWARDS, CARES).
• Preferred: Knowledge of US immigration policies and benefits eligibility.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English.

Responsibilities

• Establish one-to-one relationships with residents.
• Manage housing applications for residents to permanent housing and track progress.
• Coordinate with social service staff on required documentation.
• Accompany residents to housing interviews and tours.
• Provide information about housing options and community resources.
• Support residents after housing placement and liaise with landlords.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed and protect resident rights.
