Description

Position Summary: As the Bilingual Housing Case Manager, you will integrate intake, case management, housing navigation, and payment processing to support individuals and families in achieving housing stability. This role serves as a central point of contact for clients, providing assessments, referrals, and direct assistance. Responsibilities include processing payments on behalf of clients, guiding them through resource navigation, and delivering trauma-informed case management services. This role requires building strong relationships with landlords, community partners, and clients while ensuring compliance with program guidelines and documentation standards.

This position is Full-Time, grant-dependent. 37.5 hours per week.

Hiring Range: $24. - $26 per hour

Responsibilities:

Central Intake and Referrals:

  • Respond to client inquiries and conduct intake assessments.
  • Determine eligibility and provide referrals to JFS programs and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and update resource directories.

Housing Navigation and Stabilization:

  • Identify affordable housing and assist clients with applications, inspections, and leases.
  • Build and maintain landlord relationships and mediate conflicts.
  • Educate clients on tenant rights and responsibilities.

Case Management and Resource Navigation:

  • Develop housing stability plans and address barriers to housing.
  • Connect clients to employment, benefits, and other community resources.
  • Provide trauma-informed case management tailored to client needs.

Payment Processing and Financial Assistance:

  • Process payments for rent, utilities, and other approved expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and maintain financial records.

General Duties:

  • Document all interactions and comply with reporting requirements.
  • Participate in agency meetings, trainings, and community collaborations.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold program standards.

Other:

  • This position is grant-funded and contingent on meeting grant criteria and availability of funds.
  • The role is dynamic and may flex between intake, housing navigation, and case management responsibilities based on program needs and priorities.

Requirements

Qualifications: Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human services field preferred.

Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant rights, housing resources, and HUD guidelines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including client databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with payment processing and grant compliance preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation with valid insurance and the ability to transport clients.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in social work, human services, case management, or housing navigation preferred.
  • Experience with Rapid Rehousing (RRH) or similar housing programs is a plus.
