Job summary

UHS is seeking a hospital switchboard operator to answer incoming calls professionally and manage alarms and codes per procedures. You will monitor systems, respond calmly to emergencies, announce codes, and transfer calls while performing overhead paging as needed.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish abilities, strong customer service, and experience with medical office functions. On-site position with the hospital network.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Minimum 2 years operator experience preferred.
• Communication and computer operation skills required.
• One to two years of medical/healthcare business office experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Must adhere to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls to the hospital switchboard promptly in a professional manner.
• Monitors and responds to hospital alarms systems according to procedures.
• Responds calmly to emergency situations, alarms, and codes.
• Announces codes according to policies and procedures.
• Transfers to appropriate destination and performs overhead paging as needed.
