Job summary

North Shore Community Action Programs, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Case Manager & Certification Specialist to support our HEAP team, helping individuals access energy assistance while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role is 30 hours per week, seasonal from September through June with benefits, and renewal depends on funding. Fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, enabling effective work with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human services or related field.
• Experience with LIHEAP/HEAP regulations and program administration preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and client advocacy skills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the client application process for HEAP, including outreach, intake, eligibility, certification, and case management.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person regarding HEAP services and eligibility.
• Coordinate outreach and scheduling of appointments with clients and partners.
• Process applications and conduct interviews for first-time applicants.
• Maintain client files and electronic records in agency software.
• Assist with recertification, renewals, and missing documentation follow-up.
• Monitor heating emergencies and coordinate with vendors as needed per guidelines.
• Provide referrals to energy-related programs and community resources.
