Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Medical Interpreter to support communication between clinical staff and patients, primarily Spanish-speaking families, across Forest Home Clinic, Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Greenfield.

The role requires completion of a medical interpreting course, current enrollment acceptable, and at least 1 year of general work experience with strong customer service and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Interpreting course including ethics and terminology.
• Current interpreting course enrollment accepted if one semester is complete and completion within 6 months.
• One year of general work experience preferred; interpreter experience encouraged.
• Bilingual in Spanish with ability to bridge linguistic barriers.
• National certification must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between clinical staff and patients/guardians in various settings.
• Provide sight translation of medical and health information.
• Translate and proofread documents in Epic or MS Word.
• Attend meetings and contribute to committees.
• Support scheduling and audits as needed.
