Legacy Community Health in Houston, TX is seeking a Bilingual Eligibility Specialist to guide applicants through third-party reimbursement processes, ensuring access to care with empathy and clarity. You will admit new patients and ensure accurate insurance billing coding, while handling inquiries from prospective applicants and patients.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 3–5 years of medical billing experience; bilingual is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some medical knowledge.
• 3–5 years of medical billing experience preferred.
• Experience with ICD-A / CPT codes preferred.
• Proficient in bookkeeping and billing terminology.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Tech-savvy with office computers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eligibility assessments for clients according to program guidelines.
• Verify clients have no Medicaid/Medicare/third-party payer sources.
• Register clients into the CPCDMS and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Perform data entry of eligible clients into the electronic system.
• Maintain up-to-date eligibility files for seamless access.
• Conduct renewal eligibility assessments as required by each program.
• Confirm eligibility appointments and set initial service appointments.
• Provide clients with a list of required eligibility documentation.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
• Promote teamwork and collaborate with the dedicated team.
• Attend safety training and adhere to safety protocols.
• Travel to other sites for training and coverage as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
