Legacy Community Health in Houston, TX, seeks a Bilingual Eligibility Specialist to assist applicants with third-party reimbursement and ensure access to care. You will admit new patients, code for insurance billing, and support prospective applicants with empathy and clarity.

Responsibilities include eligibility assessments, verifying payer sources, CPCDMS entries, and maintaining orderly files, while collaborating with a dedicated team to promote seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some medical knowledge is a plus.
• 3–5 years of medical billing experience preferred.
• Experience with ICD-A / CPT codes is preferred.
• Ability to understand and use bookkeeping and accounting terminology.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eligibility assessments for clients per program guidelines.
• Verify no other payer sources (Medicaid, Medicare, third parties) when applicable.
• Register clients into CPCDMS and complete required paperwork.
• Perform data entry of eligible clients into the electronic system.
• Maintain up-to-date eligibility files for easy access and review.
• Conduct renewal eligibility assessments as required.
• Confirm eligibility and set initial service appointments.
• Provide clients with a list of required eligibility documentation.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Program and team collaboration.
• Attend safety training and adhere to safety protocols.
