Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years customer service and computer experience.
• 2+ years of multi-line telephone experience.
• Additional training and/or experience in call center procedures and medical terminology preferred.
• Previous knowledge of electronic health records system preferred.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Screens and routes patient calls, ensures accurate registration, appointment scheduling, and follow-up scheduling into database.
• Responds to patient questions by editing, canceling and re-scheduling appointments as necessary according to clinic protocols.
• Reminds patients to bring documents (medications, income verification, insurance information) to appointments.
• Verifies patient information including demographics and insurance coverage at each visit.
• Minimizes time spent on hold; answers incoming calls per protocol.
• Calls and reminds patients of upcoming appointments per protocol.
• Documents patient cancellations and no-shows per protocol.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Assists in development and documentation of protocols related to job functions.
• Takes patient lists home due to inclement weather and reschedules accordingly.
