Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Tacoma, WA, invites applicants for a Full-Time Customer Service Representative in the Managed Care Department. The role screens non-insured patients, offers enrollment assistance, and provides education on public health coverage. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.

The position reports to the Managed Care Manager/Coordinator, with responsibilities ranging from outreach to case management and coordination of care pathways for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree or AA/BA preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience required; healthcare setting preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret varied instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison between clients and clinic to reduce barriers to service.
• Assist with public health coverage applications and primary care provider selection.
• Support outreach and assist with informational materials for campaigns.
• Maintain activity records and submit progress reports as directed by Managed Care.
• Advocate for customers regarding coverage barriers and access to care.
• Educate customers on services and responsibilities, and act as case manager for families.
• Help meet departmental and organizational goals and maximize access to services.
• Attend mandatory trainings and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
